Roawenwood: Design & Craft

This week has flown by!  Here we are, it’s just about Sunday and I haven’t updated or done anything on the blog this week.  *mutters under her breath*

It’s been crazy.  So much going on that here at 2 am my time I’m finally realizing… whoops!

I released a set of sandals that are awesomeness this week.  I know, I’m so modest right?  I can’t help it, I like these ones.  They’re called Phoenix Rising.  I picked the name because the way the prim work at the bottom of the tongue/top are turned out.  It reminded me of a phoenix.  Just an impression I got so I went with it, sometimes those are the best kind.

In 7 different versions… golden and black base texturing and then different variations in either pewter or gold ornamentation.  The black and the gold ones are my absolute favorite, the coloring just stands out and looks really good to me.  I like all of them but that is my favorite.  I think they’re a great accessory for fantasy, maybe Greek or Roman?  A rather pampered slave girl?  Maybe…

I also released a set of cages.  A stacked set of three for role-play.  One girl can be in each cage giving a nice look for capture rp scenes or a slavers home or something.  The other two are singles cages but are RLV enabled with scan and capture.  Once the girl is captured she’s placed within the cage, stripped and held.  I like them, made almost entirely of sculpted prims… shaded nicely too.  One has a linen mat, the other has strew strewn within the bottom so if you feel like being nice letting em have a blanket orrrrrrr not so nice……

The Myths and Legends 2 hunt started yesterday too.

I have that out with some hunt tracks, no hint… it’s really not that hard to find.  The hunt prim shoots off yellow sparkles in every direction.  *laughs*  So if in doubt, just look for the lil yellow particles floatin.

The Gorean Grid hunt is starting soon, this time they’re not doing numbered stores.  It’s one of those where you start wherever you want and just sorta pick up the trail as you go.  Never been in a hunt that did this before so I’m a lil curious how it will turn out.

I decided to do the Fortnight Freebie down at the GFM, so if you’re a bargain hunter I’m supposed to be doing that for the next two weeks, I’m setting up tomorrow/today.

Going to keep this short, I’m tired.

March 1st!  Another month has slipped by way too quickly for me and it’s time to pick a winner for last months contest.

This month we’re goin a bit green with a special edition coloring of the Andromeda outfit.  It WILL NOT be placed out for sale so if you’re interested in having it then you’re going to have to come down and see if you get lucky.

I also threw a fun little item in there just to break up the monotony but you’ll have to come find out what that one is.

If you’re thrifty or just like grid hunts I  am involved in two at the moment.  Well technically one of them doesn’t start until the 3rd I think but I have my prim out, placed, and the gift inside already for walkthroughs and all… so you get a special heads up if you want to find it beforehand.  I know it’s cheating and all but well…… *shuffles her foot across the floor*  I won’t tell if you don’t.

The first hunt is the Wheel of the Year Hunt, it’s geared towards the Pagans in SL.  The second hunt is the Nature’s Hunt… this gift is a little less specific and I like both prizes quite a bit.  Signs/hints/what to look for are in the nets at my landing zone.

Generally speaking I have hunts going on around the store that I am a part of, though I will be honest I am growing far more picky about the ones that I am getting involved in.

Today’s hunt has a fun theme… it is an adult hunt, the items are supposed to be adult in nature, slutty, or something along those lines.  I created a kinky lil bondage chair that has a couple poses in it and particle chains.  If you want it you’ll have to come down and visit the main store.  Like usual my hunt items are kept within the landing area.  I know my store is rather big so I keep it there.

I’m not sure how many stores are participating but I’m #54 so it seems like you should be able to have some fun and maybe find some goodies.

I know that yesterday was Thanksgiving day… and I was busy making turkey and the whole big feast thing for the family… but I wanted to give a quick thanks to all of you who wander by.  I’m very thankful to all of my customers, friends, and everyone in between, I hope I get that across in my dealings with you.  I know sometimes life happens and passes by so fast that it is easy to forget that.  Easy to forget to let people know how much you care about them, and how much you appreciate them even for all of the little things… It’s been great being able to be involved in Second Life, I have enjoyed it so much and hope that continues on into the new year.   Happy holidays!!

I figured I’d toss out there a couple of news items for around the store.  There are three grid hunts that I am participating in coming up soon.

The Gorean Grid Wide Hunt kicks off this weekend.  My gift item is already out and has been for a couple of days because they were wanting it done before the Thanksgiving holiday.  It might be of interest to more than just Goreans, it is a little more generic than ones I’ve offered in hunts past.  A few pieces of furniture, low prim but nice.

I’m also doing a couple hunts in December, one starts the first… another starts on the fifth.  A few things to look forward to.

There are quite a few fans of work and chore related or role play related accessories, you guys are going to be interested in this one.

On the palette there is three different sewing or knitting pillows, a knitting stool, spinning wheel, wool carding set, and a rocker.  The rocker has two versions… one with three singles sits just to relax, and the other has an added set of knitting and sewing animations along with sewing basket to accent.  I wanted to make sure that the ladies out there had the opportunity to have something a little more feminine for their parlor or home as well.  The knitting and sewing pillows are a bit distressed, nice colors, and all floor based.  Sitting on the pillow sewing and kneeling while knitting.  Comes with accessories.  The spinning wheel is lovingly crafted out of sculptured prims and textured really nicely.  Perfect for work, or display… it has multiple speeds for the wheel, click to toggle the wheel on or off, or to adjust the speed.  The stool comes seperately so you can adjust it as you need.

Cutting this post a little short but I do have more I’m going to write up tomorrow probably or very soon.

Well the Macabre Hunt started this week and I had my stuff out… everything all set up.  Great fun, tried coming up with something a lil different/fun… outside the kind of things that I usually do.

The hunt theme is twisted fairy tales type of deal so I chose Hansel and Gretel, yanno… as a lover of cages/bondage and miscellaneous fun the whole thing where he’s caged up fit right?  Sooooooo I made a thing…… sorta inspired by someone elses idea too…. and then today, when flipping through websites and other blogs found out that someone else within the hunt basically made almost the exact same thing.

Made different… different spin on same concept, but I am alas quite frustrated that it happened.  I don’t know the other person and have never spoken to them or even been to their store… so it is all quite coincidental but now I’m left to wonder what to do.  Do I pull my item, come up with something quick to replace it with or do I leave it… knowing that it is a bit different, my interpretation and was not done on purpose?

I don’t know.  *sighs*

Soooooooooooooo anyone doing the hunt and sees the similarities and if they ever happen across here…. (which I doubt) I know and it sucks.
