Roawenwood: Design & Craft

This past weekend Gorfest opened up.  It’s a week or so of activities and has a merchant fair.  I’ve gone and done it again being a part of it with a tent set up all pretty like.  I gave it a sort of a tavernish sort of feel using some product from the store to try to give it a nice setting.

As part of trying to help raise money for the Relay for Life I have two items that aren’t available at the store over there.  One an outfit… a pretty purple colored set based off of the Simplicity silks that I released a lil while ago and then a cute pull wagon.  The wagon is set for the gardener.  Lil pots, tools, dirt and flowers decorate the wagon that you can pull behind you.  It uses an AO with a walk and a stand so you can have some extra fun with your accessories.

Both are only available through RFL vendors and at Gorfest till the 17th, then after that I dunno, I’ll have to make up my mind what to do with them.  It really is for a great cause so I hope ya’ll take a quick jaunt down to see things or to participate.

I’ve heard they’re doing some jail and bail events, auctions, different things… so go!

In other news?  I have some newness coming out this week and a special themed item specially for Merfolk going to be on sale this Thursday at a horrifically low price as part of a new group I decided to give a go.  I’ll talk more about that later.  My lunch is here!!

I’ll probably write more later… I’m really tired at the moment, and I know I haven’t been keeping up with blogging lately.  Real life has been really tiring lately and I think to an extent I was in one of those spots where I opened it and then did the……. eh, I’ll do this later.  LOL  Am sure ya’ll can identify with that one.

But I HAD to take a minute to stop tonight and post about RFL and the Fantasy Faire.

Tonight I reached out and asked for help from my groupies and anyone else who was wandering by to reach into their pockets… share their lindens for a good cause.  I did one of those Jail and Bail events.  Basically I was locked up in a cage for an hour, vowing to match any donations up to 50K Lindens.  People came down, kept me company… wandered… and I hope had some fun.

It was a great event and I’m humbled truly.

For that hour we raised for RFL a whopping 75,000L.

Ya’ll are great and it is truly appreciated.

Today’s the last day of GorFest.  I hope ya’ll have had fun with it.

There’s been tons of events and contests and things going on all week long.

So with that said, that means the little coins for the treasure hunt are going to be gone tomorrow more than likely.  Three lil coins hidden around my store with a few prizes in them if you’re so inclined.

Go on down to GorFest, loosen those purse strings and help out a great cause.

GorFest is kicking off today… 8 whole days of merchants, events, and other fun things to do.  It’s a Relay for Life event to benefit cancer research.  I always try to do something for it.  This year I was slacking some, didn’t get vendors around in world till now.

I do relay in real life, have for the last 4 years or so… and feel kind of crappy that I didn’t get much done in SL for it this year.  I have family, or known folks who have had cancer or are battling cancer as we speak.  It’s a horrific disease and having been touched personally a few times with it I tend to take it a little more seriously perhaps.

These events are so important even if they don’t seem like it… so please take a bit, go down… see what is out there and maybe donate a few lindens.  There’s tons of great merchandise being offered in vendors where the money goes to the cancer society.

I have a pretty awesome looking booth going if I do say so myself…. AND I’m participating in the Treasure Hunt.  It’s an interesting concept…. the actual hunt is at my store, so whether you go to the RFL GorFest or not you can participate.  Three gold coins are hidden around my store.  I’m not really giving hints…

There are 10 roses hidden at my main location on the five blades sim.

Lil note (( Sept 28th)) ::  Seems like one of my roses is M.I.A.  While it’s sorted and all I guess there is only 9 at the moment.  Bleh, but at least they all seem to be working right!

Each rose has a gift inside.

You can pick up the HUD to keep track of how many roses you find at the landing point, just click the spot on the sign for the Hope Hunt to receive.

The hunt and race lasts from Sept. 27th – Oct. 17th.
