This past week there was a major update to my laundry and chore line. This was some of the very first things I had worked on all that time ago. Scrubbing laundry, and hanging it out to dry. They all needed some updating, and with the passage of time some of my thoughts on chores or role-play accessories of course have shifted. Like the knitting and sewing sets I end up making some ‘packs’. Where you get more than one option or some extra little accessories to add to the scene. I have made them all copy/modify/no transfer. I mean really… one thing I do know is that people have to make their money stretch a little bit more than they used to so I am trying to take that into account, if you spend your hard earned lindens then you should be able to enjoy them hmm? This also alleviates some issues like loss of inventory since we all have had that at least once, and making up back ups or creating a larger scene.

The major part of this release is like a Gorean or Medieval Laundromat!! It’s such a neat fun idea isn’t it? A communal laundry. *laughs* Ok, maybe not -the- most fun but I know that people do like to rp in groups, and this opens up a new thing for people to explore. Can be a laundress, the cranky washerwoman… or just have a spot in the town where people can work together, gossiping and sharing the days news. That was the idea anyhow.

The Washerwoman’s Laundry Shed; has washboards for three people to do their laundry in the basin and also includes accessories to go with… a couple of rugs, laundry baskets, a hidin spot, wadded up clothes and some seating crates. The crates have 5 embedded animations for lounging or taking a break. Since all of it is copiable you can change it around or make it how you want to look. The shed breaks away from the mold a little bit from my other sheds being done mainly in stone, I wanted something a little different, this felt nice… solid and sort of homey in a way.

Now if you are looking at the display in world you’ll see a couple things tucked inside the shed. Made up a new ironing table, and something new… folding clothes! You know I really despise folding clothes in real life… Desperately so and I hesitated to add that kind of torture to Second Life but I figured someone might enjoy the rp. So there’s that… buy the full set with the shed, folding clothes, and the ironing table in world for a discount.

The rest of the main release this week is the revamping of previously released laundry sets. I redid the Hanging Laundry chores lowering the prim count, retexturing and shading the sets and making them copy/mod like the rest… the other big thing is I have combined the single clothesline and the double clothesline into one pack so you can pick or choose which one you want to use without spending a ton of extra money. The double line has room for two to work, while the single is well…. singular.

There are two sets of Laundry Scrubbing sets. The first is a revamp of the long time favorite and the other is a set that includes BOTH standing and kneeling laundry chores. I think I did it this way because well, when I was building it it looked cool together… and I thought it would be another way to give you more bang for your buck. Along with being able to have more options. I think it works out. I’ve added in some laundry baskets, rugs, that sort of thing to help add a bit more to it too.

I also revamped the kneeling ironing chore… This one is always a little tricky to get right for some reason but I think I did. You know it’s funny… I totally am sitting here scratching my head wondering what the hell I was thinking. I mean really, that’s an awful lot of laundry gear. LOL! But then again I suppose it works out, everyone has their own idea of how they want this sort of thing and hopefully I’ve been able to come up with a few options. People like options.

As I phase out old chores either redoing them or just changing their permissions things will be replaced or retired. So I don’t burn myself out on them I’ve been doing them in stages so far.

·!¦[· JULY PICKS CONTEST WINNER!! ·]¦!·

Hey guys I didn’t forget!! The winner for the month of July is: Fae Alter CONGRATS!!

To play along and win a chance each month for 2000L and a 2000L store credit all you have to do is come down, click the lil sign… and put Roawenwood in your picks. Leave it in there and then just wait. At the end of each month a name is randomly chosen and then the list is wiped clean… starting all over again.

There are a lot of hunts and things going on along with the CoLab kit that I have out for the Tea Party theme. CoLab kits are fun because you get a great deal on something because nothing is ever priced higher than 60L during the two week round they are a part of.

I’m going to cut this right about here because you know I can get too wordy… take care and talk soon.

Sooooooooo much has been happening around my place. Events, sales, and new releases. The notecard for this week by itself was HUGE. I’m shocked really that people read as much as they did.

So I’m going to try to go over some of the latest and greatest without being too drawn out but I’m not sure if I can *laughs*

·!¦[· SWEET SIMPLICITY - NEW OUTFIT ·]¦!·

I got into the creative spirit and decided to work on a very simple silk type outfit. Semi-transparent crop top, and skirts float around the girl giving her a feminine appeal without going over the top. None too ragged they can be worn whenever, accented with an included belly jewel… I just love showing off the belly. Available in three colors: Rose, Golden, and Blue along with a special Sage color in the lucky chairs.

·!¦[· PHYSICIANS OUTPOST ·]¦!·

For AGES folks have been asking me if I would ever consider doing some physician or healer type things. I didn’t get around to it but then very recently I was asked again if I’d consider making up a small shed or shack thing to go along with the rest that has become something of a line without it meaning to become one. I started with the bakers things and it just…. boom, kept going. Now we have another one! A Physicians Outpost! Rather rugged, a small building outfitted and accessorized.

Created a whole new build with shack, desk, examination table, recovery cot… accessories, wash basin. It all looks really great together and is set up at the moment near the landing.

·!¦[· TO MARKET, TO MARKET - PULL CARTS FOR YOUR RP ·]¦!·

Ever want to role-play out going or coming from the market? Have a garden but wanted to bring along your tools? Well I decided to start a new line of pull carts so you can enhance your role-play. Each one works like an AO with walking and standing animations so you just wear it from your inventory. Each comes with filled and empty versions of the cart.

╚»╚» CHALLENGE!!! «╝«╝

I’m going to give those few who actually read this far down an opportunity. I am wanting to create a few different types of this sort of thing, and I have plans for other variations however… I can’t __always__ come up with everything, I get tired… yanno? Anyhow… Here’s the challenge:

Send me a notecard with your ideas for what might make up a good something to be pulling around in a cart (name it something like… Challenge; Pull Cart) and if I use the idea then you will get a set for — FREE!!! –

·!¦[· ROAWENWOOD ACRES ·]¦!·

I finally got the landscaping, outdoor and seasonal area around a little bit better. At the very least, well enough that I’m willing to mention it. It will go through final tweaks and things will be added but if you are curious you can take a quick look. I’m going to be placing outdoor furniture and things over here along with plants as I make them.

I’ll put sale info in a new post.

Yesterday I realized it was the 7th, a whole week past the beginning of the month basically and I hadn’t gotten to the post here on the blog about March’s Winner. Ughh…. you know, that is really not quite like me and I apologize profusely to the last months winner of the picks contest. Though really it probably didn’t upset her all -that- much… I DID do the prize part, which is the good stuff. *grins*

This past months winner of the 2000L and the 2000L Store Credit was…… KittenAnne Mousehold!! Congrats!

It was fun, and I got the…. “oh my god I never win anything!” hehehe makes it even better.

Remember it is easy to get in on the chance to win, all you have to do is come down… click the sign at the landing point while keeping Roawenwood in your picks. You know… the first person I picked off the list this past month DIDN’T have the store in their picks. Tsk tsk, so they didn’t win and that’s why KittenAnne got lucky!!

Other up and coming news? It’s a secret but….. I’m probably going to be rebuilding the store very soon. I know right? I know how it is and I like it when I go to a place to be able to find everything where I left it so to speak but hopefully the layout will still keep shopping easier. I’m having to move some of my more adult content and upcoming content into an adult rated area. I don’t like it but I’m sure it will work out. Roawenwood is still going to try to have an atmosphere that I enjoy… hopefully it turns out ok. Cross your fingers for me.

In the meantime what does that mean to you? Not a whole lot except that at some point the bulk of my inventory will be put into a temporary store in the sky so you guys can still get to it while I work on the ground level. I will probably be retiring some merchandise, though I haven’t picked what exactly. Once that is settled we’ll have some reopening stuff… and hopefully a lot of new fun things for you to peek at!

Newness for yesterday! I put out a camp set. The Woodsman Camp Set with a sculpted tent, camp blankets, fire, terrain piece and grass so you can create a neat little scene with it. The tent, terrain, and grass is copy, while the blankets and the fire are transfer. I figured this way you can create a camp easily or just use the one. It’s been an interesting bit getting it together, I think it looks pretty decent and can go in so many different kinds of places. It isn’t like it is solely Gorean or anything else. If you live in a desert region even it can be used… just don’t use the grasses and included terrain piece. The tent still looks great.

It will be on a 50% off countdown vendor for at least another 24 hours, maybe a bit longer so if you’re curious you should come down.

Also, just because I think it is funny and have to poke fun at myself a little bit here… I did a “Hump Day Easter Egg Hunt Whoopsie”. Last week I put out 10 eggs for people to find with gifts from around the store mostly. It was a great success and a lot of people had fun with it… well…. umm, you see. *shuffles her foot across the floor* I didn’t -actually- write down where I put the 10 eggs and the store is pretty big… and… and… well…. I couldn’t remember where I put two of them. I figured I’d have no problem, I know my patterns and where I’d stash stuff right? WRONG! hahaha

Soooo we had an extra little bit of fun, while poking fun at myself I decided to give a 500L Gift Certificate to the first person who IM’d me with the right locations for both eggs. I had a few people who sent one, and while only the first will get the 500L one… I’m going to be a stinker and give the ones who tried a 250L one, I just didn’t mention that in the announcement. *grins*

You never know what I might throw in there so it’s better to give it a shot, you might end up with something anyhow!

The 7 Sins hunt is still going on, and this week another hunt started…. the Celebrating Gaia hunt. I made something nice for that too. At least I like it but then again most of the time I don’t put out or give away things that I don’t like. I’m the sort that can’t put something out there if I’m not at least somewhat happy with it. I’ll always be the most critical of my work of course but you know how it goes right?

Anyhow… I think that’s enough rambling for one morning. I’ll talk to you soon!

Woot, Wednesday again so it is time to try to find some way to spice it up a lil bit for ya’ll. I’ve been working on these garden arbors. Trying to find the right combination to make them appealing but not too prim heavy. With Valentine’s coming up I’ve been trying to also come up with something a bit softer.

This week I placed out a nice rose arbor, it has the same animation set that my Rustica Hammock has, and one of the loungers in the furniture section. I really love this animation set. It has 8 poses/animations total, one person laying on one side… another laying opposite them on the other side. Slightly cuddly male/female set where he caresses along her belly, and then a less cuddly version that is set for a couple friends to kick back and just relax. I’ve spent a few hours on pieces using these sets just talking.

So for the Hump Day Happenins around my place I decided to crate up the rose arbor and then a plain rose arbor w/out the couch or animations then put it out on the sim for ya’ll to find.

I left a hint in the notecard for the update list groupies so if you wanted that you’d need to be a part of the update group. *winks* Otherwise… well try your hand at wandering the sim and see if you can find it.

The mini-hunt will go on through tomorrow at least though the arbor is available in store for purchase if you miss it or just really don’t like to do hunts.

Have a great rest of your week!

Snowy weather has struck much of the grid from what I’ve seen and there’s a few out there who like to live amongst the northern climbs. For you I have something a little different to set up and have some relaxing fun in the snow.

Ice Fishing.

A small sculptured pond with room for up to four people to set around the edge at a time. Two relaxing spots, and two fishing spots each with a different fishing animation. Embedded and adjustable so there are no poseballs but no loss of functionality.

It is small enough and light enough in prims so that most can use it without any problems. An included bucket of fish is separate so you can decide to use it or not. Right click to sit, then click for the menu to choose which spot you want to sit on… click the stump to receive one of two fishing poles, one for one fishing anim…. the second for the other.

Have a good one.

Woot! Friday. It’s here!

I always try to have a few releases around friday and this week is no different. This one is a bit out of my norm, a prefab. I don’t do these very often but I got into this kick, making gardens and things this past month…. so I came up with a walled garden. It’s really quite pretty, I called it “Tranquility Walled Garden”.

It is copy/modify so you can alter, have more than one, expand or even take away pieces. I tried to set the linksets to make for easy customization whether you want to save prims or just have it different than I set up. The lanterns, fountains, trees, flooring, fencing/walls, and gates are all done separately so you can pull them not using them at all… or alter to suit.

It’s about 25×25, decent sized and weighs in at 155 prims total for all of it. The trees have texture change, each have 17 different leaf textures so you can have it switch with you during the seasons. Autumn colors or spring or summer. The fountains are very pretty I think and the whole thing just feels peaceful. I have a tp to where it is rezzed down at the landing point at the moment… it’s tucked alongside the furniture buildings and will probably stay there for now at least.

I released the lanterns that are on the side as a separate set too because I just really like them. They’re 6 prims apiece, look like a lot more and have smooth sculptured lines. Distressed a bit, a lil rusty… gives a very nice atmosphere to a space… soft glowing light, and the flame can be turned off with a click. Very simple but classic I think. They are available on Xstreet too.

I have a couple sets of work or role play sets coming out real soon. I have to work on getting the posters done. I also have a few sets of clothes coming out. My Naughty Bits camisk reloaded so to speak, another camisk set that is shaping up nicely… and I have a winter thing I’m working on. Of course, I do have something that is rolling around in my head. I want to do something fancy for the holidays. I’m not sure what’s going to shape up but I’m thinking something delicate. I haven’t done anything really delicate in awhile so perhaps I’m due.

There’s going to be a fun holiday outfit set that I’m going to roll out just for something different. Not really Gorean but that’s ok… not everything has to be right? *winks*

Whew. You know reading all that, I’m tired already. I just can’t seem to sit still for very long.

Take care and talk soon!

The end of summer is tickling at me and I’ve had lots of plans in real life lately. Family coming to visit, going to visit family… this weekend I’ll be pretty busy too but I haven’t forgotten ya’ll and have had a couple releases that have been let go quietly without group updates. I’ll probably make a group update and highlight some things soon but at the moment I’m just leaving a few notes here.

First I made up a couple of fun pieces. The Back Alley Bar set; a set of barrels, crates, grain sacks and other pieces to create a role play area for the downtrodden, along docks, in an alley somewhere, I’m sure there’s no limit besides your imagination. It comes with 5 different spots for ya’ll to hang out. 3 lounging animations to drape yourself along the crates… and 2 drinking animations, you wear the bottle and sway… singing, arm raised in drunken revelry. I had fun creating it and while it isn’t for everyone I think it could be a lot of fun for you too. I also made up a bottle and tankard avatar attachment to go along with it, wear it and sing along sitting nearby.

This week sees also the release of a couple of pieces in my landscaping department. 1 prim sculptured ground cover. At the moment available in two different colors it covers a 10×10 area using just one prim. Bright red and purple blossoms with lush green foliage. I have them out against some of the textures that I got for my sim from Botanical. They look really good, fit in nice. You can see them not too awful far from the landing point at my main store.

For all you workers out there I made up a new “chore” though this isn’t a chore outright I wouldn’t think. It’s stone chiseling and set up for the guys. I haven’t done a female counterpart though I could I suppose, it seems most work sets for role play are geared towards the kajira, or female. Sweeping, mopping, sewing, knitting, etc. So on occasion I think it only appropriate that we should get some work outta the guys too! Besides… this is something that is considered a craft. Stone masons hard at work creating sculptures or stone for building, a great accessory I would think for a lot of folks.

So I’ll leave you for now, I have much to do and probably not enough time to do it all like usual. The Gorean Grid Wide Hunt is wrapping up this weekend so if you haven’t gotten your lil package from my place you have until Monday morning. I’m going to leave it out through the weekend for all those last minute hunters who might be interested in picking it up.

“Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree.”

~Martin Luther

Last evening I planted my apple trees… well, sort of. I have always loved trees and whenever I build my private home or have some land to play with one thing that tends to be rather integral is the landscaping. I’m very particular, I don’t like flat and I don’t like cartoony unless I’m in a specific mood. Generally I like having different kinds of ‘areas’ or spots to recline or spend time in whether alone or with the few friends that I have. Tonight I released a set of apple or larma, if you’re so inclined, trees for landscaping and one that is a ‘chore’ I suppose. A couple 1 prim sculptured apple trees that are copy/modify/no transfer so you can fill up your space and not look too crappy… building an orchard. Then a 14 prim fuller tree which honestly… looks really good in my opinion for having so few prims. It’s modify/transfer so you can make it bigger or smaller even.

Apple/Larma Picking Chore Set

The chore tree is a little smaller… 23 prims, it has a bushel set atop some crates at the base. One thing that makes this apple/larma picking chore a little different than most that I have seen is that it has a few more options. Along with the picking animation I embedded three lounging animations where you can sit on the crates kicked back beneath the tree. So not only does it function as a work area… it also has the delightful option of being a lazy day relaxing area where you can sit. I have been considering embedding another set of sits so more than one person can sit at it but I haven’t decided or gotten that far yet. It can be purchased through Xstreet or at my store. I also added a lil wheelbarrow with some sacks and a bushel of apples that you can pick up just for decor. I really like it, and I hope ya’ll do too.

Other updates? Ohhh… more grid hunts. I have the Gorean Grid Hunt starting this weekend, and I have the Through the Looking Glass hunt on the 25th. To be honest… *whispers real low* I don’t have anything made for either of them yet. *coughs and raises her voice again* The idea that I had for the TTLG hunt someone else is doing and I don’t want to be too similiar, so I’m a little unsure what to do for that one anyhow… but that one is further off, so I don’t feel that much pressure. The Gorean hunt I’m sure I can whip something together. I’d like to have something unique and not just something from my store in it but I might toss a few things in there.

I’m also involved in an event with the people who do the Lucky Chair stuff. Shep has something new coming out and I’ve been selected to be in the first wave of testing for it. Very cool, but that means I need to come up with a prize for that by friday too! No rest for the wicked… or so I hear and damn it seems like it’s true enough for me.

So tons of freebies and things coming out this month for ya’ll who are interested between the three different hunts and such.

I finished the Kirtle/Camisk set too…. buuuuuuuuut I’m being naughty and holding onto that release for a wee bit while I work on the new store build! I know, I’m terrible but I want a few new things for the opening, and yanno something… I fought with the textures for this outfit so badly that I am not in a huge rush at the moment. I have all the ads and pics done, the outfit…. so that will be coming out SOON!

Until I get a bit of time to write again, I gotta get back to work!! Be safe and have a lovely week.

I love, simply adore, decorating and landscaping in Second Life. It is one reason why I like building things for other people to be able to do so. Making plants is always a little bit of a pain. Just how many prims are you willing to waste on a tree, or some grass, or a flower? Especially when you usually need quite a few to make it look decent, and prims are so very precious. Hard to come by and let’s face it. Most people aren’t going to want to buy more land just for some prims.

When the 1 prim sculptured alternative came around instead of the 3+ prims needed for most flowers and things I was ecstatic! What a great thing! I loved it and ached to be able to do the same thing. I fumbled around in programs trying to make a sculpt map for it but to no avail so I wasn’t able to.

Until now!! Oohhh I finally got them! I’m soooooooo excited! I have in the past day or so converted most of my holiday trees (even the blinkie ones) so that they are now only 1 PRIM! I also have added new rows of flowers in the landscaping area, as well as a brand new set of herb plants! I figured they’d be great for gardeners, role players, or for someone who wants something a little different than their neighbor. Available on Xstreet in no copy, and at my main store in both copiable and no copy versions.

I have lots more coming soon and I’ll be converting my other trees to the 1 prim sculptured too.
