I’m a wee bit behind on the blog else there would have been lots of posts on this.

Every year I toss around the idea of doing the 12 Days in the more traditional style of the days after Christmas rather than leading up to. Well this year I bit the bullet and decided at the last minute to go ahead and just do it!

Most everyday (I’ve run late a time or two, actually to be completely honest I have not put out yesterdays gift yet lol) there has been a new gift and a marked down item from the store. I’ve twisted it around, been a smart ass a time or two or just blatantly decided to play along with different parodies to create something of my own 12 days of Christmas.

Day 1 I was looking over the list and realizing that there was a hell of a lot of birds in this song. If I do this again I’m going to have to account for it. Gift for day one was a whole pear tree set with chores and all.

Day 2 Two Turtlenecks! I grew up listening to a parody (http://www.squidoo.com/12days) and the second day was two turtlenecks. So an outfit we had… a saucy thing with skirts, and a naughty top.

Day 3 I went back to the normal version but twisted mine around. The Three Hens Sewing Circle was the gift. A furniture set for three women to sit, gossip or generally bitch about life. The grumpy anim is just classic, I added an expression to it so you get a real fun little thing. Very nice set. I adore it and intend totally to have it available somehow after the event.

Day 4 I made you breakfast. Breakfast tray for one going back to Bob and Doug, 4lbs of bacon, and the day before for them was french toast so why not. I like this tray too to be honest. Can read in bed, eat a couple different foods… rezzes and derezzes props.

Day 5 Golden Rings! Redone anysia silks with brand new jewelry. Seriously liking these too, body drapes and all. Mhmmm, spoilin ya’ll

Day 6 See we’re back to birds, and I realized with the geese-a-layin and all that my butchers accessories didn’t have any poultry. Hmmm, well we can’t have that so we redid the butchers sets and the work table was todays gift.

Day 7 Swans-a-Swimming in a lovely foresty pond for your garden.

Day 8 Maids-a-Milking. Ummmmmm I got naughty here, she ain’t milkin no cows in this one! 0.o

And now we’re getting to where I’m at…. I have to put out 9 ladies and 10 leapers. Yanno, I’m strugglin with the leapin lords. *scratches her head*

All gifts are for in world group members only but placed around the tree down at the landing all pretty like.

An opportunity for you…. I need a scripter. I don’t generally look for this sort of thing making due with what I can find or do for myself however for something specific I wish to accomplish I need someone who is reliable, and can script something for me that allows me to have copy/transfer permissions at least so I can include it in a product. (I WILL NOT sell anything full permission ever, permissions would be redone to copy/no transfer or no copy/transfer always). Here’s where I figured I could put my feelers out there… ya’ll listen to me ramble and someone out there must know someone.

The rundown:
ȯȯ Sear needs a scripter.
ȯȯ You find and/or know a scripter who is looking for work. I need copy/transfer permissions at least so it can be used in a product.
ȯȯ Ideally they contact me
ȯȯ If they can do what I need, they get hired, they _complete_ the work to MY satisfaction and are paid/compensated for their work as agreed
╚»╚» You (the person who referred them) receive as a thank you and finders fee 2500L store credit to be used at any of the stores in the Roawenwood Store group (Splinter’d, Roawenwood, Roawenwood Acres)

In other words, I’m not handing out 2500L worth of stuff just for a name. The work has to be done and completed before anyone gets that. Just covering my backside. *winks*

I have been reworking the store and doing a lot of maintence type stuff that has been making me a little crazy. In general this has made it tough to put out new things but since I’m making things better than ever which will free up more of my time to do even bigger and better stuff.

You know one thing about large stores, it always feels like you’re trying to figure out what works for the layout. I think people are getting kind of lost right now. It’s not a bad build, though I think it will work better with some moving around. Splinter’d though looks a whole lot cleaner, and better. Easier to wander and find things. I think it turned out really great and I didn’t even really have a plan going into it except it needed something. I started with a building, modified it and voila…. you have what is there now. I actually am quite pleased with it, and surprised that it turned out half way decent to be honest.

In celebration I am having a sale!! See while I rebuilt it I ALSO put things into vendors. I have hesitated doing this for YEARS partly because of the lag that vendors can cause. These shouldn’t be too much of a problem and I get to have MORE fun with ya’ll because of what the vendor system lets me do.

One of the many benefits is gift card system, being able to send as a gift, and now a customer rewards program. When you spend cash, you can earn to get some back. I think that’s awesome. A little extra bit of fun and it just tends to give the warm fuzzies when you get to come back, get a little extra something because you’ve earned it.

Now through or until Halloween everything in vendors over on the Splinter’d sim is discounted 25%. I even have a couple new things out too.

So now that Splinter’d is getting settled in better I’ll be fluttering around the main sim and the landscaping sim getting them settled. While I’m at it I’ll be migrating things into vendors. This way the customer rewards and extras can go for those areas too. I hope you are having a great week and I’ll write again soon.

It’s awful quiet on this blog lately isn’t it? Almost afraid to raise my voice above a whisper.

I have been doing my releases on Wednesdays in world, but haven’t been updating this bugger as much as I probably should.

Whole new lines of fishing items, and there was a Father’s Day fun thing…. *sighs* I’m slackin. I should be punished.

*hangs her head*

I’ll make sure to update this when I do my next latest and greatest or just feel like rambling. It’s been really busy in real life lately….

This past weekend I did an RFL walk at the high school near where I live. I did a late night shift with my team, from midnight until 6am… so I’m still kind of feeling like I haven’t caught up on my sleep. Of course I was too stubborn to rest beforehand, so for about 48 hrs I didn’t sleep *laughs!*

I’ll catch up with ya’ll soon, thanks for hangin in there.

I’ll probably write more later… I’m really tired at the moment, and I know I haven’t been keeping up with blogging lately. Real life has been really tiring lately and I think to an extent I was in one of those spots where I opened it and then did the……. eh, I’ll do this later. LOL Am sure ya’ll can identify with that one.

But I HAD to take a minute to stop tonight and post about RFL and the Fantasy Faire.

Tonight I reached out and asked for help from my groupies and anyone else who was wandering by to reach into their pockets… share their lindens for a good cause. I did one of those Jail and Bail events. Basically I was locked up in a cage for an hour, vowing to match any donations up to 50K Lindens. People came down, kept me company… wandered… and I hope had some fun.

It was a great event and I’m humbled truly.

For that hour we raised for RFL a whopping 75,000L.

Ya’ll are great and it is truly appreciated.

This post is going to be a little out of the ordinary and I’m going to be asking for feedback, I don’t think my readership is all that large but I’ll be mentioning it in my notecards to the update list etc…

I have a sincere question about in world groups…. Group slots have generally always been an issue in SL. When they raised the limit of groups from 15 to 25 (yes, omg can you believe it when I joined it was only 15 I think) people thought their problems were over. They have yet again raised the limit to 42 with the caveat that they may reduce that count IF lag and/or other issues becomes too much of a problem with people having that many groups. With the problems of keeping groups between rentals, vip groups, friends, family, land… you get the idea, the update subscribe list became mine and most merchants friend.

With the limit raised I have been considering giving the in world group a few more benefits assuming that folks may be more willing to keep a store in a slot.

Fast forward to now… you have a choice, what kind of group do you think is most appealing?

Option 1: The group is open enrollment, kept that way in general. Group discounts may be applied, the odd freebie every once in awhile or perhaps group only type announcement or benefit is thrown out there… if a special group only event occurs it may be closed during to make it more ‘special’.

Option 2: The group has a nominal fee to join, say… 200-500L but you are guaranteed some special compensation for paying into the group. Special freebies available only to groupies, sales, and other things on a rather regular basis… this group could also on occasion be closed during more special offer event type deals if they occur.

Option 3: Closed group by invitation only. Can only join if given an invitation, also has guaranteed specials, sales, and events announced available only to them.

I have seen all three options used… because I know group space is generally dear and hard to come by along with the fact most people really –don’t- need extra spam I am wanting to ask you folks what do you think works best or would draw your attention from a consumers point of view and give you the most benefit.

Now with all that said… I GREATLY appreciate feedback on all levels, good… bad… or indifferent, so to prove that I’m willing to send a gift to everyone who responds either in world on a notecard to me, Searlait Nitschke, (please title it something like… “Data Mining for Roawenwood [date here]” or commenting here on the blog. Please let me know your SL name if you comment here and it is not the same as in world. Thanks very much, till next time!

I re-opened the sim with a whole new build. I’ve been considering having a photo contest… either like I did last March where a person does their own photo with something from the store or maybe even seeing what kind of pic’s people can take in and around the sims. There’s some real pretty spots and it’d almost be interesting to see what people could come up with.

Anyhow… I added some new stuff to the lucky chairs. Three outfits and a funky pair of shoes. One is Mardi Gras themed using the colors gold, green and purple. The other ones are just green…. more for St. Patty’s really. Also released a scribe’s desk, and a podium for furniture pieces then released the wrapped and netted tops.

This next week is going to be a bit crazy… Twisted Hunt starts!! Weeeeeeeee, this should be fun. I’m pondering how to hide my lil box once I get it. I’ve been considering a bunch of decoys twirling and swirling around the landing point…. I’ve considered building a little something with boxes so ya’ll have to find it in and amongst them.

Of course there is also a mini hunt coming up. I’ve put out a special area in the new build where the mini hunt is going to be during the Twisted hunt. Hopefully it all comes together and everyone has some fun.

Have a great weekend and take care!
