FAQ’s
Often I get IM’s, notecards, and such sent to me asking for different things. I have over time grown to find that a few seem to keep popping out and to hopefully make things a little easier I am going to draw up my responses to those frequently asked questions. Most of the time my answers to these aren’t going to change. I know that most won’t find this page but it is a small step in me trying to keep my sanity. *laughs* I will always try to help or be available if I can be, I pride myself on my customer service and will do whatever I can if possible.
I purchased _this item_ at your store but I never received it, can you help me please?
This one could be an SL problem but it could also be something very simple. I’ve run into this a lot lately and it is 9 times out of 10 a misunderstanding.
Most of the boxed items at my store are set to sell contents. This makes it easier for the most part for folks, you don’t have to unpack anything but in general if it is boxed people expect to have an object in their objects folder to unpack.
If you run into this, do me a quick favor… check the top level of your inventory towards the bottom for a folder named {RW} Whatever It Is That You Purchased, it might just be there.
Hello! I love your outfit __insert name here__, would it be possible to have it in a different color, _color named here_?
Generally speaking I’m going to say no. It isn’t that I don’t want you to want my things… and it isn’t that I don’t want customers to want to purchase them or wear them. It usually is because I have so much going on that time constraints make it difficult to do requests like this, as well as my own personal views on the outfit.
Whenever I create an outfit I have something in mind for it. For example; the Flutterbee set has something like 8 colors… the Andromeda set only has 4. When I created Flutterbee I had this light airy spring time thing going in my mind and it all came together to have a vast array of colors that I found appealing. Andromeda only has 4 colors because they are the ones that I thought got across the outfits intent the best which was to be a rather stately look. For this reason I don’t generally recolor outfits unless I am planning on re-releasing for a different look. I love ideas though and will always welcome feedback, I might end up making something based on an idea that you have.
I don’t like resizer scripts in clothing, would it be possible to get a modify version of (named silk/clothing piece here)?
Probably. I don’t mind giving out modify/copy versions of my outfits. When I first began making clothing I thought that the idea of resizer scripts was great, less work and all for people that don’t have the knack for altering prims. However since then I’ve really rethought that and most of my outfits are modify now. I know that opens me up to content theft. I don’t like that but I value my customers more. Resizer scripts can be great, however they can also add a lot of lag along with the fact that sometimes they just don’t work quite right or you can’t position something just so.
So I really have given up on using them… if something I made in the past has those scripts then I will probably give you a modify version after you purchase the original.
I was wondering if it would be possible to purchase/get for free from you the animation you use in….
Would it be possible to buy/get for free the script you used in…..
Would it be possible for me to get a copy/transfer version of this item using this animation……
I’m sorry. More than likely not. Unless the item you are asking about is using a script that is readily available as an opensource or free resource, or the animations are some of the free ones then I probably can’t give them to you even if you are willing to purchase them from me.
Most animations, scripts, and things of that nature that I purchase for my business have terms of service that forbid me from giving them away, reselling them, or giving them to someone with copy/transfer permissions.
I believe strongly in protecting content creators and that means all of them… not just the ones who are decent at maneuvering prims but the animators, scripters, and texture artists. It is very difficult to make it in here… a lot of work goes into each creation. Hours of work, and I need each of them as much as they need me.
I can’t script that well though I can fiddle with them. I can’t animate to save my life and to be honest I don’t have the patience to try. I love creating but there’s a few things that I will give other people credit for and enjoy their efforts. I believe this is good for the SL economy in general as well… we work together and create things using each other as resources. I won’t take advantage of that if I can help it.
I might be able to give you some names, landmarks, and resources to get your own however I will tell you up front that a lot of what I have purchased has taken a long time, a lot of effort, and a lot of lindens.
I got an item from your store and would love to have the textures that you used… could you give them to me?
I don’t generally share textures if I do I only will ever give them out as no transfer unless it is something I created myself, but even then I tend to give them as no transfer. It makes it a little trickier to build, you have to drag it directly on the prim but I don’t share textures anymore than I share animations, or scripts. If I purchased them I might let you know where I got them.
As I think of other things I’ll add to this. Take care and don’t hesitate to contact me!! I’ll always try to help to the best of my ability.
