Each week I try to do something special around Wednesday.  I’m not always able to be right on top of things due to real life, internet fiascos and Second Life problems so sometimes it is later in the day on Wed, but if I am able to every Wed there is a special sale, discount, give a way, hunt, promotion or other event type thing.  I just adore doing it.

This spawned the idea for the Hump Day Hawker!  Hawkers traditionally were peddlers who yelled out trying to get the casual observer to buy their wares.  My idea is this… once a month for a week, either the second or third week of the month unless otherwise planned, a vendor is chosen to display some of their goods at the Roawenwood.  Given a prim allotment and bit of space on the palettes at the landing point the chosen vendor may create a display for their week.  In return for this space, prim allowance, and announcements through the Roawenwood update group they would in turn provide a special sale, discount, give a way, or other enticement only available at the Roawenwood location for at least that Wednesday as part of the “Hump Day Happenins” event at the store.  Generally when I do Hump Day events they start sometime during Wednesday and end either on the following day sometime… or towards the weekend.

This is an experiment of sorts that I am hoping will produce some results.  If there aren’t enough applications or participants to have this as a regular thing on a monthly basis then it will be done as they come up or perhaps have a rotation where participating merchants can come back to show off their wares again.

Hump Day Hawkers Application and Restrictions

Thank you for your interest in the Hump Day Hawkers program.  Please read the following restrictions to be a part of the program at Roawenwood before filling out or returning the application to be considered.  By submitting the application you are implicitly stating that you agree to the terms of the program and will be bound by them.

+++ Hump Day Hawkers agree to stay within their prim allotment (usually 50 prims or so).  Displays will be kept within the space given and no taller than 5-7 meters high unless agreed upon prior.  Displays at Roawenwood tend to be themed or try to not be too cluttered when possible, try to keep that in mind.  While it is understood that you wish to be visible if it is felt that the display is over the top or garish then you may be asked to alter it at the discretion of Searlait Nitschke.

+++ Hawkers may set up their displays late Sunday/early Monday at Roawenwood.  Roawenwood is a no build zone so to place objects Hawkers will need to have a group slot open… however, if you really cannot afford a group slot to place a display or for the week then please make sure to notify Searlait Nitschke to work out alternatives upon acceptance to the program.

+++ VERY IMPORTANT +++

Hawkers MUST agree to as a part of their participation in the program to offer a special sale, discount, freebie, give a way, or approved event (such as a hunt or something) that is available ONLY at the Roawenwood location where their display is at.  Hawkers MUST agree to have it available AT LEAST through the entire day Wednesday as part of the Hump Day Happenins experience.  In general Hump Day events last through most of the day Wednesday and part of Thursday.

+++ Participating Hawkers will be expected to pick up their displays no later than Saturday, at which point if they are not may have them returned at the discretion of Searlait Nitschke unless otherwise stated.

+++ You must be the creator of the goods/services that are offered.  Freebie reselling, resellers, business in a box, and businesses of this nature are not eligible to participate.

Being a part of the Hawkers program at Roawenwood does not guarantee real or implied results or profits of any kind for participating vendors.  Hawkers will receive as a participant prim allotments, space to place a display, advertising, and announcements through the Roawenwood update group.  Other services, restrictions, or allowances may be considered if necessary or agreed upon.  Roawenwood reserves the right to accept or reject any application for any reason, applications are kept on file and only need to be submitted once… those accepted will be notified by Searlait Nitschke no later than 1 week prior to their proposed event.

Any questions please submit them to Searlait Nitschke by notecard.
